parks

When I was in Ireland, it was amazing to see some of the parks. Their parks had no trash, no graffiti, and had monuments of historical figures of Ireland. Their parks also contained events that were free to the public and was always going on, be it a play, a small sporting event, or a tournament for street performers. It's amazing the radical differences from their parks to the parks here in Newnan.

coke

I recently noticed that coke went back to it's original shape when it comes to their liter bottles. I never found that shape to be very appealing to the eye, but then again, that style was it's main artistic frame for the longest time. It's more appealing to the older generations of coke drinkers because they recognize the shape. I grew up with the regular style plastic bottles and cans.

Dexter

Dexter is a tv show about a serial killer who is a blood splatter analysis who kills those who are truly evil in our society when the cops can't get them. It's a interesting story of a man who tries to make a difference in the world by killing one evil person at a time.

video game environment recreation

Today I bought the game Assassin's Creed 2, and it takes place in Italy 1476-1486. It's amazing how the company Ubisoft completely remodeled the Italian Renaissance through computer graphics. From buildings to the clothes on the avatars. Ubisoft also rebuilt the cities of Florence, Venice, the Vattican, and some country side parts of Italy.

black friday shirt art

I was walking around a shopping center on Black Friday, and noticed on peoples clothes were strange forms of pop art. A lot of the younger females had a catchy cartoon image with a quote bubble saying something funny on it. The males were either wearing some sort of polo or clothes with some form of skull art or word art. It's funny how much pop art controls our fashion culture.

human behavior in art

The famous graffiti artists Banksy portrays human behavior in his graffiti. He shows the behaviors of a little girl when she loses her balloon to homosexual cops kissing. Human behavior in my eyes is considered how one reacts with another individual or to an environment change.

art on youtube

You can search art all day on youtube. From people drawing for the camera to commercials, art Is everywhere on youtube. This topic is a bit too vague. You can just search the word Art on youtube and get peoples video blogs to artists drawing images.

artists in society

Artists shape our society. During the Italian Renaissance, people like Leonardo Da Vinici helped describe their society and culture through art. His artwork was incredibly realistic and he also showed that he knows symmetry, dimensions and was able to use his art to craft ideas for future inventions.

art and film

Art is in almost every film today. Art can be portrayed as CGI or the clothes on the actors. Art fills the world of film. Either it makes up the entire film or helps tell the story. The movie "Up" is done completely in CG. This movie was a touching story of a man who loses his wife and tries to fulfill his promise to her to go to Angel Falls, or Paradise Falls in the movie. Along the way he runs into a little boy that helps him find peace with the loss of his wife and to live the rest of his life happily in her honor.

human nature in art

Human nature is the natural behaviors that come to humans. You can consider love or lust a human nature. It is instinctive when a person finds someone they want to connect with, they feel a love for them. Anger is also another form of human nature. We naturally feel angered by things that irritate or agitate us.

human condition in art

When you look up the human condition in art, you find images about the inner emotions of the humans in the artwork. When searching, I found "Hopeless" and it portrays a human looking into the sunset or sunrise in a lagoon type of environment. The image shows sadness and loneliness.

interview with a curator

When I was at the High Museum, the curators were very helpful. They explained everything about the artwork we were looking at. The curators also truly explained to me personally about "The Shade." It was a touching story about the loss of their friends. This was the only real question I wanted answered during my short interview.

poetry slam

I never got into the poetry of Edgar Allen Poe. I think out of all of his poems, I only liked the Raven. I understand he had a harsh life but his poetry was about nothing but death and chaos, or the loss of someone. I just feel like poetry shouldn't be too dark and gloomy to be considered poetry.

this music video is art

When I was a little younger I watched the music video for Linkin Parks "Breaking the Habit." It was completely done in Japanese anime. It completely used the art of anime to portray the song. The song was about breaking habit's that could lead to self pain and the pain towards others. It was the first music video I've seen that incorporated art into a music video.

my right brain, my left brain

My right brain functions all of my mathematics and decision making. My left side fuels my creative fire and helps me put art on paper. I can just visualize images in my head and put them on paper. Both sides of my brain function at the exact same time to create images that have realism style meanings.

my photographic eye

For this I took a picture of autumn of 2009. our group took pictures of leaves and the environment to show the beauty of autumn in Georgia.

fashion as art

Pop art spans into fashion in our age. Everything we wear has a lot of pop art influences included. From t-shirts to jackets, even undergarments as well.

human struggle in art form

The civil rights movement had photography art that helped show the world what was going on during the Civil Rights Movement and help bring attention to the issue. The images showed the struggle of men and women working for equality amongst the USA.

diorama

My diorama was touching the issue on racial and sexual equality. Men and women have different standings in different parts of the world. In the middle east women have to cover their bodies. Some tribes in Africa, men are afraid of women, and only confront them when they want to reproduce. Racial equality is slowly shifting as our president is now an African American male where as our presidency has to deal with mostly powerful white males in the US society.

graffiti

Graffiti is a form of art because it is a form of expression of the artist. Not all graffiti is art because tagging is not art. Graffiti artist who put murals on walls that they are allowed to is art, and so is expressing their political views is their art in the form of spray paint on different mediums like canvas, walls and grounds

public art

I was search public art a while back and I saw images of artists using chalk on sidewalks of portraits that play optical illusions. One artist has a chalk image of Spiderman trying to save someone at the top of a building who could actually be the viewer if they were standing in the right spot.

...is a culture

Gaming is a culture because it spans into a wide diverse world of people. More and more people get into gaming because it's the cheapest form of entertainment in our day and age. I am a particular gamer that plays World of Warcraft and our world is spanned into a world of now 13 million subscribed players. Every year there are conventions for games that are packed with people of all ages, races, and sexes.

Interview with an Artist

I interviewed my artist friends from high school who are all now in art school. My friend Kailee is trying to become a tattoo artist. She is completely engulfed in the tattoo world. She has tattoo's all over her body expressing different times of her life through images and words. Kailee looks at the body as canvas waiting to be explored, unlike me who prefers to just keep the art on paper and not on my body. Maybe one day I'll take her advice and get a piece of art done on my body to commemorate something that I cherish on my body for the rest of my life. We will see

I Know What Art Is

Art to me is the expression of another human being through some form of medium or tune that describes the specific experience of the artist. For me that medium is graphite and pastel. For others it is music, literature, photography or drawing/painting. You can't say that someone is not an artist by the way they make their art. Being an artist is about just being able to express yourself in another way that is not just verbal or a written essay, its about expressing yourself in a creative way that is like a blueprint of your expression. I once did a pastel piece of an eye with a reflection of an umbrella. All I was trying to express was, "hey stop and take a look at the world in a different perspective and not just the regular one."

Art Education in Schools

I truly believe in my heart that art education stole my creativity in school. During high school, my teachers would force us to draw things that really weren't our style and criticized our artwork by the way we made it. My junior year, my art professor saw the real potential in me. Before I had gotten into her class, I was drawing pictures of anime characters and simple "doodles." Now I like to draw pieces of art that include real human figures. My favorite art piece that I had done during high school was a dry pastel of the chest of a black man. I didn't honestly think my pastel art would be as amazing as it had been. But since high school, I haven't really been able to do art because I'm sick of being told what to draw or what to draw with.

I Love This Architecture

When I was in Ireland, downtown Dublin had Victorian architecture style buildings. The buildings would have windows that would get shorter as the building went higher giving the illusion that the buildings were a lot taller than they really were. This style of architecture really plays a trick on your mind when walking down the street and thinking, "Dang, these buildings are a lot taller than I thought they would be for apartments."

My Favorite Artist

If any artist could be my favorite, it would be Salvador Dali. His ability to put his surreal dreams on canvas is extraordinary. Dali truly captured what art would look like when you are dreaming. Many different things all incorporated into one picture with many optical illusions and symbols in that art work. It's also impressive how far he stretches his creativity with his works of art.

Dance

During the Michael Jackson movie "This is It", there was so much art in the dancing. It was made with love and emotion that M.J. had given his music. Like the song "Thriller" and it's adaptation of the dead rising and dancing. The remake of the song was pretty out there and was very creative and artistic.
